Why do I need a website? In today’s world, the internet if the first place consumers go for information about products and services. A clinic website provides 24/7 access and information to both your current clients, as well as, prospective clients. At very minimum, a web site allows your clients and prospective clients to find your phone number and get directions quickly and easily. A sophisticated web site like webDVM will enhance your practice image with a unique site that expresses your values, showcases your services and facilities; and educates your clients. It can also function as a vital and efficient communication channel for your clients through posted news articles and email functions. What are the benefits of having a webDVM website? Increased clinic exposure with 24/7 access through your own unique domain name. Increased client compliance to clinic recommendations through the provision of fully described medical and other services and an extensive pet health education library, including instructional video clips, e-learning presentations and online communication. Improved customer service and communication with regular news articles, frequently asked questions and online appointment booking and prescription/food ordering. How am I charged for a webDVM site? There is one time set-up fee, and a monthly maintenance fee for a fully-featured website. The set-up fee includes website development and set-up, registration of your own unique domain name, and training on the content management tools which you can use to maintain the website. The maintenance fee includes the hosting of your website, content maintenance, news updates, 25MB of storage, five 50 MB clinic email addresses and a toll-free number for customer support. What payment methods are accepted? Lifelearn accepts Visa and MasterCard for site set up fees, and you may choose between automatic bank withdrawal (electronic funds transfer) or credit card for monthly charges. How do I decide what the website will look like? WebDVM offers many professionally designed templates, which we customize for you by adding your name and logo, and a color scheme (100’s of colors to choose from or give us your specific practice colors). You can also customize and personalize your website by adding text, photos and extra web pages to showcase your practice and team. What are the standard sections of a website? WebDVM creates intuitive sites that divide content into the following sections. Many of these sections are extensively pre-populated with Lifelearn content, which you can edit and customize. You do not have to use every section and you can turn sections or pages off while you are adding information. If you have a pre-existing website and would like to switch to the webDVM service, we can transfer your content into the different sections of the webDVM website. How is the information collected for the website being created? webDVM first supplies you with a Quick Start form to identify your practice’s basic information including contact details, team members, and hospital description to get you online fast! Remember, webDVM comes with standard sections including extensive and editable pre-written services and FAQs to get you started. Can I transfer an existing domain name to your servers? Yes, just let us know at time of registration. Will I be able to view my site before it is put online? Absolutely. Before a website can go live, it must be reviewed and approved of by the clinic. Will my website appear on popular search engines? (Ex. Google, Yahoo) Lifelearn has optimized our sites to ensure the major search engines will find your site and list them in search results, however the key to getting a high ranking on search engines is in the frequency of new material on your website and the number of links to and from your website, among other things. Advertising the site to your clients and getting them to visit and use the site (Pet Health Library/Photo Gallery/Online Forms) is important as is editing your site on a regular basis and having other sites link back to yours.
