Vaccination Basics provides a basic understanding of the principles of immunity and vaccination, as well as a description of the various canine and feline diseases for which vaccines are available. The vaccination categories (core, non-core, not recommended) are in accordance with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).
Veterinary team members will learn:
- The definition of immunity
- The roles that antigens, antibodies, B-cells, T-cells and plasma cells play in an immune response
- Why vaccinations are important for maintaining a healthy immune system
