Having a blog on your veterinary website is a great way to help boost your search engine results. Publishing regularly means that you’re frequently updating your website, while giving the search engines more pages to dig through and giving visitors incentive to stay longer on your website – all of which are good for your website’s SEO.

As fun as it can be to keep up with your veterinary blog, you may run into a few speed-bumps – and one of the first challenges you’ll encounter is the issue of writer’s block. It can be intimidating to think of subjects for your blog.
If you don’t know what to start blogging about, you could try having a look at your practice and what’s going on. For example, you could write about:

  • Patient success stories
  • Local events you’re participating in
  • How common procedures are done
  • Big news about your practice
  • Seasonally relevant happenings (think holidays, summer activities, and more)

If you’re still stuck for an idea, we’ve put together a huge list of ideas for you – so you’ll never be stumped again!
These posts are sorted by month to keep them relevant, and include special days and events from the AVMA Pet Health Awareness Event Calendar. Feel free to adapt any of these blog post ideas to your individual practice, change the species of pet, adjust the writing style to improve your SEO, and fill in any “X”s as needed! This list is meant to jump-start your creative juices and help you figure out what to write about.
