Webinar Title: Topical Toxins Poisonous to Pets

This one-hour lecture will review some prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) topical toxins that are poisonous to pets. We’ll review the mechanism of action of toxicity and review treatment.
- Topical toxicants that will be reviewed in this lecture include two deadly prescription topical medications: calcipotriene and 5-FU.
- Other topical OTC toxicants that will be reviewed include corticosteroid creams, triple antibiotic creams, tea tree oil, and zinc oxide.
Presenters include Justine Lee, DVM, DACVECC, DABT, and Ahna Brutlag, DVM, MS, DABT, both from Pet Poison Helpline, a 24-hour animal poison control center based out of Minneapolis, MN.
